African Cultural Week: Gala Night 5:30pm to 8pm MacDonald Middle School
Gala Night showcases the positive aspects of Africa and its people to both MSU and East Lansing Communities. The theme for the 2009 Culture Week is: From Sunrise to Sunset; The Harvest is Ripe! This theme embraces the idea that African nations were and still are progressing towards greater achievements. The celebration will include presentations of African music, dances, skits, displays of African Artifact, and a student panel discussing contemporary African issues. We also intend on having a keynote speaker from an African nation to speak during the gala, the first day of the Culture week, which includes a dinner consisting of our special African delicacies.

Global Festival All day event
MSU Global Festival is a fun-filled, engaging multicultural family event where MSU international student organizations share their cultures with exhibits, performances of ethnic dances and music; fashion shows; and demonstrations of native games and crafts. The World Gift shop offers a variety of international gift items (proceeds support scholarship fund for spouses of international students to attend MSU classes). The Global Cafe will serve international cuisine from all over the world.
MSU Global Festival is sponsored by the Community Volunteers for the International Programs (www.isp.msu.edu/cvip) and the Office of International Students and Scholars (www.oiss.msu.edu) at the Michigan State University.

Celebrating international education week, all 1,100 residents of Hubbard Hall will be gien the opportunity to taste the rich culture of Hubbard Hall. This is a smaller version of Global Fest, with booths for each country with food and activities.
